Today, we shine the spotlight on Leah Sisneros, an accomplished esthetician and one of the first students to complete the inaugural course at BYSA’s Littleton campus. Leah’s passion, determination, and dedication have fueled her impressive rise in the world of esthetics. In her own words, Leah shares her BYSA experience, the skills she gained, and how she continues to thrive in the industry.

Choosing BYSA: A Decision of Authenticity and Connection

For Leah, the decision to attend BYSA came from a place of trust and authenticity. After connecting with our program through Steve Donoho and Katrina Chavez, Leah knew she had found the right fit. She says:

“BYSA is the first and only program I consulted with. From my first interaction, I felt that I could trust the team. Katrina’s loving, authentic, and motivational energy attracted me to the school, and the rest of the team embraced me in the same way. Authenticity is important to me, and BYSA proved every day that I had a purpose within their program. I know I made the perfect choice.”

“BYSA gave me the practical skills I needed to handle various skin types and manage client interactions from start to finish. The hands-on experience made me comfortable as a provider, and the advanced certifications allowed me to refine my techniques. I was also taught how to navigate challenges and continue improving my craft.”

One of the most impactful lessons Leah took away from BYSA was the mindset of success. The ongoing support and encouragement from BYSA’s team instilled a belief in herself and her abilities.

“The mindset I left BYSA with was: ‘I can do it if I put my mind to it.’ The team’s support and the success stories of other estheticians showed me that anything is possible. BYSA planted a seed in my career that continues to grow, both professionally and personally.”

Business Savvy: Preparing for the Future

Leah also acknowledges the comprehensive business training she received at BYSA, which prepared her to one day run her own practice.

“From marketing and client management to understanding what’s fair in an employer-employee relationship, BYSA taught me the ins and outs of business. I now know what to expect as both an employee and a future business owner. BYSA gave me the tools to balance my skills and knowledge to succeed in any business setting.”

Achieving Success: Certifications and Career Growth

Since graduating, Leah has achieved tremendous success, earning advanced certifications, becoming a Certified Laser Specialist, and stepping into medical esthetics.

“Within two years of graduating, I’ve attained all of my certifications, including becoming a Certified Phlebotomy Technician. I’m working in medical esthetics, providing advanced, result-driven treatments that I’m passionate about. Seeing the confidence boost in my clients is my definition of success.”

Looking Ahead: A Goal of Independence

Leah’s journey is far from over. With the solid foundation BYSA provided, she’s working towards the ultimate goal of owning her own business.

“My goal is to have the independence and freedom of running my own practice. The experience I’ve gained working for others has been invaluable, but I’m eager to take what I’ve learned and apply it to my own business. I want to create a space that empowers both clients and employees.”
